zibby ainsley: character interview

Today’s interview features Zibby, another main character in my upcoming novel, A Stranger Thing! If you missed the first two interviews in the series, you can find them here: Lorylyn’s interview and Kylar’s interview. Zibby is normally pretty low-key, but those who’ve read past books about Zibby are in for something new this time around, because I would say her storyline in A Stranger Thing is the most unexpected of any character’s. 😉

-What’s your name?

~Zibby Ainsley is how my friends know me. Professionally I use Isabella Barrini. Isabella’s my real first name, and Barrini is my maiden name.

-How old are you?

~26

-Where do you live?

~Headed to Denver w/ my husband DJ, who just got a job there! My friend Lorylyn is moving out there too, and we’re going to open a counseling practice together. For the last 8 years I lived in Irvine, Indiana and went to college at Irelan University.

-If you were an alcoholic beverage, which one would you be and why?

~I’d be a vodka Sprite, because I’m pretty laid-back and not much dramatic stuff happens in my life, but just when you think you can predict my story, a little splash of zest and flavor will get thrown in the mix.

-What’s your biggest secret?

~My parents think DJ and I got married when we were 22 and had just finished undergrad. We really got married in Amsterdam when I was 20 and he was 21.

-What’s the biggest surprise we’ll see from you in A Stranger Thing (without giving too much away, of course)?

~What happens when DJ and I are looking for houses in Denver.

-What’s one thing that happens in A Stranger Thing that you would change, if you could (again, without giving too much away)?

~There’s one really big thing I could say I’d change…but it would mean changing who I am, or who someone else is. And I really believe in being who you are and following your dreams/desires, and doing what’s right for your life. So…I wouldn’t change anything.

-Thanks, Zibby! If you want to know more, read about Zibby during her 8 years of college in All That Sparkles Isn’t Real Sapphire and I Don’t Want the Rest of Your Life.

Tomorrow, I’ll be switching over to the first of the major male characters in the novel…you’ll be hearing from Brady Cash, Lorylyn’s ex-boyfriend and a shortstop for the Colorado Rockies! See you then. 🙂
