Really Good Friends portrays the essence of high school – the friendships, the jealousies, the betrayals, the first loves, the “really good friends” you wish were so much more…

Wrong All Along: Jill Sherer and her friends spend the summer after their freshman year of high school in a sun-splashed daze of romance and excitement. But as they make their way through sophomore year, mistakes, missed opportunities, and carefully-ignored signs come back to haunt them.

Best-Kept Secrets: It’s the craziest summer yet at Landon’s lake…wild parties, hot hookups, careless lies, and sweet revenge. But beneath the surface and behind the mask of the lies, dangerous secrets are brewing that will eventually cause the wild ride to end in a devastating crash.

Game Over: Sunny days in Jill’s pool, moonlit nights at Landon’s…the summer before senior year starts out just like any other. But before it ends, the best-kept secret of all will wreck lives, relationships, and illusions.

Other Books:

All That Sparkles Isn’t Real Sapphire: Lorylyn Porter knows a lot about deception, lies, secrets, and pain. She came to Irelan University to get away from them and from the most devastating possibility of her past. What Lorylyn doesn’t know is that at Irelan, appearances will be more deceiving than ever.

Everything Happens for a Reason…: Jill Sherer has always been the good girl, but she’s about to do something so crazy she can’t even tell her two best friends. In Everything Happens for a Reason…, fate, along with betrayal, secrets, and broken dreams, disturbs the lives and relationships of Jill, Hilton, Todd, Luke, and the rest of their group of party-loving college friends.

Love Means Zero: Witnessing the best tennis she’s ever seen, hearing the outrageous outbursts of bad boy Haidin Bayliss, playing poker with mouthwateringly gorgeous Tanner Bruin….Being a photographer for Game Set Match magazine seems like a dream, until Hilton starts to see the job she so quickly fell in love with may cost her the love of her life.

I Don’t Want the Rest of Your Life: As Lorylyn and her roommates finish college and begin the next phase of their lives, they struggle with the heart-wrenching discovery that sometimes, the guys they thought they’d risk everything for are the ones with whom they can no longer imagine a future.

Living in a Postcard: Scandalous photographs, world-class tennis, a life where travel never stops. It’s Hilton’s “postcard,” or moment she would die for, until a devastating fallout with her best guy friend puts her job and her dream life at risk. And as she strives to get things back to good, another relationship in her life is unforeseeably spiraling toward an even more shocking end.

A Stranger Thing: A new year and new lives await Lorylyn, Zibby, Kylar, and Jansen as they leave their Indiana college town behind for Denver and Chicago. But from their new cities to New York, Budapest, Fort Myers Beach, and Brussels, ghosts from the past emerge to haunt them, strangers become fast friends, and the oldest of friends suddenly find themselves little more than strangers.

Only May in Paris Will Tell: Every May the tennis tour lands in Paris, and with it, Game Set Match photographer Hilton Joliet. As Hilton travels the world, hitting different stops on tour each week, events near and far set the stage for the secrets only May in Paris will tell, including divorce, pregnancy, hidden agendas, a stunning photo in Hilton’s first photography book, and a revelation about a year-old murder.

only may in paris will tell character interview: haidin bayliss

Today’s character interview features Haidin Bayliss, Hilton‘s former hook-up buddy. The night before Only May in Paris Will Tell began, Hilton went to Haidin’s hotel room to celebrate him winning the Indy tennis tournament. When she knocked on the door, it was answered by Haidin’s ex, Aubrey Gage. This interview takes place a couple weeks after the start of the book. Game Set Match magazine (and therefore, the world in general) does not yet know Haidin and Aubrey are hooking up again, or even in contact with each other. Don’t worry…no major spoilers!! 🙂

Haidin Bayliss, No. 4 ranked player on the ATP tour

In what will possibly be Game Set Match‘s most exclusive interview of the summer, we snagged a few minutes of the most elusive player on tour’s time. That’s right, you guessed it, tennis bad-boy-turned-mystery-man Haidin Bayliss has decided to grace us with his presence. If it’s anything like his ESPN2 interview a few hours ago, all we can say is lucky us…

Deidre Fox: Haidin, you’re having a hot year, but you couldn’t win a title. Finally you did, a few weeks ago in Indianapolis. How did that feel?

Haidin Bayliss: Like it was about f***ing time.

DF: How did you celebrate?

HB: Privately. With a friend, and a present from another friend.

DF: Hmmm. Might our readers know either of those friends?

HB: They probably know both.

DF: Any chance you’ll give us a hint to their identities?

HB: I might just tell you, if you’d ask.

DF: Who are they?

HB: Ha. Right. Like I’d actually tell you.

DF: Well, it was worth a try, I guess. Did either of these friends have anything to do with your subsequent disappearance?

HB: I told ESPN already. I was kidnapped. I beat off my captors with tennis racquets and still made it in time for the birth of my bastard child. Did you miss that interview?

DF: No, I sure didn’t. Just thought you might have some additional details to add. Like if one of those “friends” you mentioned a minute ago happened to be the mother of your bastard child.

HB: (Laughs) Nope. No more details.

DF: You also told ESPN a couple hours ago that the world would probably find out soon enough where you had been. Is right now soon enough?

HB: No, not now.

DF: When?

HB: Like I said. Soon enough.

DF: Fans around the world were worried sick, imagining every possible scenario. Our “Where’s Haidin” tip line got thousands of emails from distressed fans, most of them not claiming to have seen you, only worried about your safety and fearing the worst.

HB: I would say that’s probably because GSM made my “disappearance” into a big deal by publishing that ludicrous story the other week. And setting up a “Where’s Haidin” tip line.

DF: Clearly we weren’t the only ones thinking along catastrophic lines.

HB: Whatever you say.

DF: Does it make you feel good to know people care so much about your well-being?

HB: Hell no. It makes me think there are a lot of people who need to find something better to do with their time than care about a stranger’s personal life.

DF: What did you think of Brad Gilbert’s new nicknames for you today? Haterade from Adelaide? Or the Bossy Aussie?

HB: Haterade from Adelaide has a nice ring to it. Not bad.

DF: Well besides the big reveal of where you were the last couple weeks, do you have any other surprises in store for the tennis world in 2009?

HB: Not that I can think of. Yet, anyway.

DF: I have a feeling that just won’t be the case. Haidin Bayliss has a quiet fall and winter, barely makes the headlines? No way.

HB: Well, I guess it remains to be seen then.

DF: Can you give us any updates on your love life? How’s Hilton?

HB: She’s great, I’m sure.

DF: You’re sure? So you don’t know? Are you two no longer involved?

HB: Like Hilton and I have always said, we don’t talk every day. We’re not a couple. We never have been. But before you ask, yes, we’re still friends. Everything’s fine.

DF: Just fine?

HB: Just fine. (Smiles)

DF: Any new love interests?

HB: Nope. No one new at all.

DF: Okay, well, you remain tennis’s mystery man. Thanks for your time, Haidin.

HB: Yep.                GSM

only may in paris will tell character interview: hilton joliet

hilton omip

Hilton Joliet

Hey guys! It’s Hilton from Daisy Jordan‘s new book, Only May in Paris Will Tell, which is officially released and can be ordered here! And since you get free shipping w/ a $25 book order, you might as well pick up another Daisy Jordan book or 2 while you’re at it. 😉

Anyway, I am soooo excited for this book. It takes place over 10 months, and you will read all about my love life, my move to LA, whether my ex-boyfriend Luke and I manage to stay friends, whether my ex-hookup-buddy Haidin and I manage to stay friends after I found him in his hotel room w/ his ex-girlfriend Aubrey at the end of Living in a Postcard (SO weird to think about still…), what my best friends Jill and Todd are up to in LA, whether anything else ever happens w/ the guy I love, Tanner, after that kiss we had in Indy, what my tennis-player friends Nate, Noah, and Damian are up to, and so much more! And don’t worry if you haven’t read previous books about me – this one does stand alone, so you can read it without having read any of the others!

And to give you a little further preview of the book, here is an interview with me and my boss at Game Set Match magazine, Deidre Fox. Just remember, I’d never tell her everything. 😉

DF: Hilton, what are you most excited for in Only May in Paris Will Tell, the latest book about your life traveling with the tennis tour?

HJ: For my book launch next May in Paris! I’m publishing my first photography book. And also definitely to see how my love life progresses.

DF: Ooohh, tell me more!

HJ: I can’t say much more right now. Just that there’s a potential prospect…at least I think there might be. And I can’t wait to see what’ll happen.

DF: Anybody we know? Anybody you’ve been previously involved with or linked to?

HJ: Maybe. Or maybe not.

DF: I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what pictures our talented photographers are able to get.

HJ: I guess so.

DF: What are you least excited about in your life right now?

HJ: Well, I’m moving to LA, which I’m thrilled about, but my best friend Luke will still be living in Indy, and I’ll miss him like crazy. We’ve been living together for basically six and a half years. So I’m bummed about being so far from him.

DF: Luke Windler, not just your best friend, but also your ex.

HJ: Yes.

DF: Could he be the “prospect” you’re talking about? Is a reconciliation in the picture?

HJ: Luke and I don’t need to reconcile, because like I said, we’re still best friends.

DF: Avoiding the question.

HJ: Maybe. Or maybe not.

DF: Tell us who you think will be the center of the biggest surprise story to come out in GSM in the next few months.

HJ: Well, you never know what’ll happen, but I think it could be Haidin Bayliss.

DF: Because he’s your prospect?

HJ: This one actually has nothing to do with me.

DF: Can you tell me what you know?

HJ: Just that Haidin has some surprises up his sleeve, I think. Or behind his hotel room door.

DF: What?

HJ: Nothing.

DF: Okayyyy. Let’s look farther down the road. Who do you see being at the center of the most jaw-dropping story of 2009?

HJ: Hmmm. I’m gonna go with Nate Young. Or maybe me. Or maybe somebody not even on the tennis tour.

DF: Wow. That’s insightful.

HJ: And true.

DF: Are you still friends with Tanner Bruin? You 2 haven’t been spotted together in over 3 months, since shortly before he proposed to his girlfriend Austin Delks and she said no.

HJ: Of course Tanner and I are still friends. I visited him at his house in Vero Beach while he was recovering from his broken ankle last month.

DF: Is Tanner ready to make a comeback?

HJ: I think he is. I think you’re going to see him come out firing and have a strong summer. He’ll be ready to defend his US Open title.

DF: How many girls do you think Nate Young will hook up with between now and the end of 2009?

HJ: You’d be surprised.

DF: I have no doubt. Okay, Hilton, final question for today. Who’s your favorite new character in Only May in Paris Will Tell, and who’s your least favorite new character?

HJ: My favorite is definitely Leks Drovic. She’s awesome…and unexpected, in many ways. And my least favorite…Whitney Gray. Whitney brings heartbreak and alters lives in a way readers will never see coming. It’s devastating.

DF: To whom?

HJ: A lot of people.

DF: Okay, well we’ll cross our fingers it’s not you who’s devastated, Hilton! But we at GSM have to admit, we can’t wait to see what you’re talking about! GSM

Yeah…I bet she can’t. :p Well guys, stay tuned for the next Only May in Paris Will Tell character interview…with Luke Windler, my ex-boyfriend!

In the meantime, read all about the book here, and if you want to read previous books about me, you can start with Really Good Friends in paperback or ebook format (about my friends and me in high school), or Love Means Zero in paperback or ebook format (about my first year and a half traveling with the tennis tour)!

back cover of Only May in Paris Will Tell…background pics taken at Court Philippe Chatrier, Roland Garros, Paris – where the French Open takes place!

And just in case you don’t want to read the tiny print on the back cover, here is the description:

The emotional wreckage of a failed proposal. A broken ankle. A wild bachelorette party at a gay bar. A jaw-dropping exposé on one of the world’s top tennis players. That was May in Paris in 2009, when the tennis tour landed in the city for its annual French Open fortnight. Hilton Joliet, a photographer for the magazine Game Set Match and a friend of several players on tour, was at the center of it all. And in the two months since Paris, life has continued to serve up surprises.

A month ago in Vero Beach, Florida, Hilton told her best friend on tour Tanner Bruin she’s in love with him. Five nights ago in Indianapolis, they kissed, but Tanner still doesn’t know how he feels about her. Last night, Hilton knocked on the Indy hotel door of another friend on tour, her former hookup buddy Haidin Bayliss, to celebrate his latest tennis win. The door was opened by Haidin’s lingerie-clad ex-girlfriend and self-described Hilton enemy, bitchy, outrageous A-list actress Aubrey Gage. This morning, Hilton is 600 miles away in Kansas, driving across the country with her ex-boyfriend and still-best-friend Luke Windler, from whom she fears her life will soon go down a very different road.

In ten months, the next French Open will bring the launch party for Hilton’s photography book Living in a Postcard, a divorce less shocking than the events of the marriage preceding it, two pregnancy announcements, a fake girlfriend on a fake trip who may actually have gone MIA, and a connection between another of the world’s top tennis players and a year-old unsolved murder. Until then, the seductive dance that is the tour lifestyle…one that draws Hilton and her friends together one week and drops them in different corners of the world the next…will swirl on, clouding the air with questions and setting the stage for the answers only May in Paris can reveal.

Just a forewarning…it’s probably my craziest one yet. 😉 So make sure you place that pre-order…

See you next time for the start of the character interviews… 🙂

real pictures and places from a stranger thing…chicago!

In my last couple posts, I’ve shared some pictures from Brussels and Denver, 2 of the major locations in A Stranger Thing. The final major location I’ll be posting some of my own photos from is Chicago, where Kylar, Jansen, Thaler, Xavier, Drew, and Brooke live! I grew up about 3 hours from Chicago, and one of my best friends lives there now, so I visit pretty often. It is a beautiful city and LOTS of fun!! 🙂

real pictures and places from a stranger thing…denver!

Ok guys, I really am going to start updating my blog WAY more often. 🙂 Last time, I featured some pictures I took in Brussels, where my character Kella lives and where a few pretty important scenes in A Stranger Thing take place, including the awesome cliffhanger! 😉 Today, I am showcasing Denver, where Lorylyn, Zibby, Taylor, Crissy, Winthrop, and Brady live, and where I used to live as well! I love this city so much. 🙂

downtown Denver

My brother Josh and me at the summit of Trail Ridge Road in Rocky Mountain National Park…it tops out at just over 12,000 feet and is the highest stretch of paved highway in the country! This is where Zibby and DJ go for a weekend shortly after moving to Denver, while Lorylyn is in Florida for Jill’s wedding. Another fun fact…for every 1000 feet of altitude gained, the temperature drops as much as every 600 miles driven north…so going up this road from where it starts at 7500 feet to here, just over 12,000, is like driving to the arctic circle in an hour 🙂

Josh and me in Vail. The house in the background is like I imagine the one to be where Lorylyn and her friends stay in Breck

Katy, Holly, and me…I had most of my craziest Denver adventures w/ these lovely ladies. They are the real-life Crissy and Taylor…fictionalized of course 😉

real pictures and places from a stranger thing…brussels!

A Stranger Thing has 4 major locations – Denver, Chicago, New York City, and Brussels. I thought it would be fun to share photos I took of places that inspired my writing in some of those cities! Today I am starting with Brussels, where my character Kella lives. Enjoy! 🙂 And click on Kella‘s name to read an interview with her!
